Thought of The Week

If you’ve been following PWC Hero Cast, you’re aware that we’re holding a massive audition for a leading role in the Mission Park Quinology.

You’d also know that Hero Cast puts power in your hands, with the ability to vote for your favorite actors auditioning at each of the preliminary PWC Hero Cast auditions.

If you haven’t been following, now is the time to start! Head on over to www.pwcherocast.com! You can check out past auditions, vote for your favorites in the current group, and get to know the actors auditioning for the Mission Park Quinology!

Weekly Comic Talk

Last week, I talked about how I was thinking about doing a daily 4-pannel comic strip on Perro Worldwide, featuring various members of Team Mission Park.

The big holdup was time investment. I wasn’t sure that I would be able to fit in a daily comic strip, in combination with everything else. So I decided to do a test strip and see what the time investment actually was.

So, here it is!

First, I had to research what the size of each panel needed to be. Even though this was going online, I wanted it to conform to standard size specifications. You can check out the Perro Worldwide Blog, linked right here at perroworldwide.com, if you want to know those specific measurements.

I used 11X17 inch Bristol board (which is the same size used for drawing a comic book) and made myself a template. That way, I could trace the boxes over and over without having to measure each time.

After that, I came up with an idea, wrote the dialog, and drew up a rough sketch to make sure I liked what was happening from panel to panel. Then I drew the strip and inked it. Finally, I scanned it into the computer, and added the text and color.

I like the final product, which you can read online, here at perroworldwide.com, but unfortunately, as I suspected, the time investment was too much for me to commit to a daily strip.

That’s why I’ve decided to make this a weekly strip! That’s right, starting in a few months, we’ll be kicking off the weekly Mission Park Comic strip. But first, I need to have enough of them completed! So… We’ll talk about that again later!

TV & Film Talk

A few weeks ago, we filmed Mission Park: Rock Fusion, which is a collection of music videos featuring all the best Team Mission Park characters duking it out.

Maybe not the most plot-driven thing we’ve ever come up with, but sometimes all anyone is looking for is some mindless action to pass the time. And Mission Park: Rock Fusion has that in spades!

See, a good fight scene is about substance, not style. These days, too many hack filmmakers rip the camera off the tripod and mask bad fighting with shaky camera work and bad lighting. Audiences don’t know the fighting stinks because they can’t even make out what’s happening on the screen. You hear some sound effects, a couple of close-ups on some swinging hands and feet, and that’s about it.

Not Mission Park: Rock Fusion. We did this old school, Bruce Lee style. Long shots, good fighting, and no masking what you see. That’s the way to do a real fight, and that’s the way we do it at Perro Worldwide.

We’ll keep you updated with the progress of this project and let you know when it goes online. It takes a little longer to edit, because we actually have to choose quality shots, but when it’s done, it’ll be well worth it!

PWC Weekly Happenings

On Monday we made several cosmetic updates to the Perro Worldwide website. We also added links to the official Perro Worldwide blog and a signup page to get full access to all things Perro Worldwide.

Wednesday saw the release of the “pilot” Mission Park comic strip. Check it out at perroworldwide.com and look for a new strip every Monday!

Yesterday, we released a new recipe! Head on over to perroworldwide.com for the details.

That’s everything for this report! I’m Chip Perro, and you’ve been watching PWC: Comic & Sci-Fi Focus. Have a great week!
